In 1947,when the Dptt. of Electronics and Tele-Communication engineering was opened, in this Institution, it became one of the very few technical Institutios in our country where Degree course in Tele-communication was offerd.
In 1954, it was the first place in India to set up a Television Laboratory equipped with a complete closed circuit Television together with facilites for broadcasting Television and F.M. programmes.The Department startedits firsrt Master of Enginering Degree programme in 1953 offering specialisation in Ultra High Frequnency and Radar.
Facilities :
1. Complete set of Microwave Test equipment
2.Analogue computer with non-linerafuncion generator & Sevoscope.
3. 580-a Tetronix Oscilloscope with assoceated plug-in units.
4. 50 MHz Digital counter.
5. R.F. Phase meter.
6. F.R. Admittance meter for admittance measurements at U.H.F.
7. Frequency sub-standards.
