When reason and unreason

come into contact, an electrical

shock occurs. This is called

polemics.

The electrical engineering Department started in 1947 as one of the four Engineering departments in the college. In the initial stage the department was looked after by Prof. S.P. Chakravarty the founder Principal, and the intake was 20 students.

The department at present has three professors, 8 readers and 12 lecturers. The laboratories are very well equipped to handle undergraduate and postgraduate work in the department. This department is the only one in Madhya Pradesh having High Voltage Testing Laboratory.

Facilities :

1. Impulse generator B-50-2724 Output 1600 KV at 28 Joules with facilities for testing with positive and negative polarity impulse waves of standards specified.
2. H.B.D.C. testing equipments output 105 KV D.C. at 10 milli amps negative or positive line polarity, continuous operation.
3. Power frequency High Voltage testing set. Output 500 KV, 0.7 Amps, at 50 c.s. and 350 KBA (1 hour).
4. Special oscilloscope Camera System 5 inch cameras and accessories by Tektonix,with facility of oscilloscope displays to be simultaneously viewed and photographed.
5. 500 KV Schoring bridge.
